I have a gift. It's mystical. Eerie. I double book and overbook my schedule with such consistency one might mistake it for purposeful attempts at accomplishing a myriad of tasks. This week, for example, I am preparing for four days of scrapbooking at the beach. The day I am supposed to leave I need to do school with the children, take Rose to dance class, make the make- ahead breakfast I will be serving at the beach, and attend a Girl Scout leader's meeting. The day I get back is our Girl Scout troop's first meeting of the year. So, in addition to scrapbooking this weekend, I need to be preparing the calendar, newsletter, forms to distribute to parents and plan the meeting. Oh, and I am bringing the snacks.
I talked to the Girl Scout Chairwoman tonight. She likes to talk to new leaders. She assured me I would be fine if I just stay organized. Organization is of much more value than creativity and enthusiasm. Organization isn't on my list of character qualities. That's my sister. She got all the organizational skills. I got the enthusiasm. I prefer to enthusiastically live in chaos. Or chaotically live in enthusiasm. Maybe one of the Brownies will be organized.
That reminds me, I need to make some brownies. . .
