Signs of Spring

Today is the first Saturday of Spring and the signs are everywhere:
  • An earthworm on the bathroom sink that looks like it has recently been given a bath (or at least "swished" in the sink)
  • A little Hereford bull calf, the first baby born to our neighbor's cows this season
  • St. George composing "cow" jokes (What summer treat gives us milk? A popsicow)
  • Marshmallow guns that Todd built and the kids have been using all day
  • The chickens chasing the marshmallows being shot across the yard
  • The smell of bark mulch on newly dug flower beds
  • The fairy tea party Rose and Edison set up under the hemlock tree
  • Pillows on the trampoline where the kids hoped to nap in the sun (of course, this being March in Oregon it soon rained; and of course, the children being Oregonians didn't care; and decided that today was the perfect day for a pillow fight on the trampoline in the rain)
  • A daddylonglegs in a jar on the kitchen counter

Aww, some of them are really sweet. :-) Some are kind of scary! ;-)
