When Rose was two, I bought her a pack of those "Day of the Week" underwear. The Tuesday pair had steaming cups of tea all over it, and thus our weekly Tea for Tuesdays was born. Not a very romantic beginning perhaps, but it had high alliterative value which was really all that mattered to three children under three years old. This year, Rose's ballet class meets in town on Tuesdays and so it has become Tangled Turmoil for Tuesday. Still low in romance and high in alliterative value, but not the kind of day that lends itself to tea with children. Friday is our new tea time and since we are now unconstricted by alliteration, we have branched out into picnics as well as teas.
I just mixed the Irish Soda Bread that we will have with tea tomorrow. This is my new favorite with tea:
Irish Soda Bread With Cranberries
Preheat oven to 325 and grease two loaf pans. Mix 4 cups of flour, 1 cup of sugar, 1 tsp baking soda, 2 tsps baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 3 eggs, 1 pint sour cream and 1 cup dried cranberries until it looks like batter (it will be very stiff, but it shouldn't be crumbly). Divide into the two pans, bake for one hour.

My seven year old twins ADORE "Days of the Week" panties! How cool that you have a teatime tradition based around them :-)
LOL! I used to beg my mom for Days of the Week panties, I thought they were the "coolest!!"
And I think having a weekly tea time is such a great idea...just wondering if I can lock myself into my room alone and have it all by myself...LOL
