Illumination

We finished Windeatt's St. Benedict: Hero of the Hills yesterday (a great read, by the way) and so today we are listening to the beautiful chanting of the Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo De Silos. We toured the Philadelphia Art Museum's Leaves of Gold on-line collection. The site is very friendly and in addition to large samples of illuminated manuscripts, they have some useful printables. We are using their illuminated manuscript template to make our own books. This is quite a consuming endeavor. Three little heads are bowed over their work, and two tongues are sticking out in concentrated effort.
